The Basics

  • Ethos Yoga 113 South Saginaw Street Holly, MI, 48442 United States (map)

Have you ever wondered how to work your way into the most commonly cued poses in slow flow, slow burn, Ashtanga, or vinyasa? What are they “meant” to look like — and more importantly, what are they meant to do and feel in the body?

In the midst of a flowing class — surrounded by other bodies that seem to know where they’re going — it can be challenging to pause, refine, and truly explore the mechanics of a posture. This workshop creates the space to slow things down and look more closely.

Together, we’ll dig into the foundational asanas we use regularly at Ethos. We’ll explore not only the mechanics of each pose, but also variations beyond standard approaches, options for transitions, and supportive tools such as props and the wall.

Whether you’re brand new to yoga, returning after time away, deepening an established practice, or even teaching yoga yourself, this workshop offers something for every body and every practitioner.
